One thing you love you about our MRTT chapter:
I love how supportive everyone is. On a day when I don’t feel like running I get guilted into running by looking on our Facebook page. Everyone shares how they really feel about running, good and bad. Helps me realized I’m not alone. I also love socializing with members before races. It’s so nice to see familiar faces.
When did you start running consistently? What prompted you to start?
I started running mostly consistently in 2009. At the time I wanted to be able to run the 5k being run during my husband marathon races. I never loved running when I was a rower, but running helped me deal with personal stress. With breaks for injuries and pregnancies, I keep coming back to my running shoes.
Where is your favorite place to run/workout?
I love running around Tower Hill pond in Candia/Auburn. For lunch runs, it’s not uncommon to find me in Wasserman park if I can get away from the computer long enough.
Do you have a favorite race? If not, what is on your bucket list?
My favorite race is the Winter Half at the Hamptons, I’m a cold weather running fan and I love that the last three miles of the race are along the ocean. As for bucket list items I’m doing Big Sur in April 2016 and I’m hoping to do 50 mile ultra-marathon within the next few years.
What is your current running/fitness goal?
2015 has been all about building a strong base. I gave birth to Z in late February and I wanted to give my body a chance to heal fully.
What motivational quote or motto keeps you working hard?
“We all have dreams. But in order to makes dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort.” – Jesse Owens
What is your favorite distance to run?
I’m pretty much a fan of any half marathon distance race. If I’m going to take the time to wiggle into a sports bra I want to be out there for hours.
Who do you love to run with? If you love to go solo tell us why!
My favorite running partner is my poodle Cooper. He’s always available and I feel safer when he’s with me.
Miriam is si inspiring! I love following her on social media. xoxo
